Jessie M. Tasselmyer obtained her Florida law license and worked for a prominent insurance defense firm in South Florida practicing civil litigation. Ms. Tasselmyer practiced No Fault insurance defense and defended insurance carriers against fraudulent claims. Ms. Tasselmyer gained extensive experience in pre-trial discovery, motion practice, and settlement negotiations. Thereafter, Ms. Tasselmyer obtained her Colorado law license in 2016 and currently practices workers’ compensation defense. Ms. Tasselmyer handles all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation from inception of an injury through hearing and appeal. Ms. Tasselmyer is committed to client responsiveness and professionalism.
Ms. Tasselmyer earned her Juris Doctorate from Arizona Summit Law School in 2013. In addition, Ms. Tasselmyer attended Florida International University for her final semester of law school as a visiting student and gained extensive experience in environmental law through the University’s Environmental Law Clinic. Ms. Tasselmyer earned the award of best writer during her participation in the Environmental Law Clinic. During law school, Ms. Tasselmyer clerked for a Plaintiff’s Social Security and Disability law firm writing appeals to the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review Board and clerked for the Arizona Department of Transportation, Executive Hearing Office. Ms. Tasselmyer was the President of her school’s Environmental Law Society and oversaw the society’s mission of environmental awareness. Ms. Tasselmyer also arranged pro bono events and speakers for monthly meetings. Ms. Tasselmyer is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, and Professionals in Workers’ Compensation.
Ms. Tasselmyer enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and skiing in the Colorado outdoors. Prior to law school, Ms. Tasselmyer grew up in rural northeastern Pennsylvania and later obtained her undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Spanish from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
